Hey Gator Fans!

Joanna here, and I am approaching my last weeks as a Florida Gator tennis player.  In fact, I finished my last exam and “walked” so I am done with school.  All that I have left before I am considered a “Gator Alumni” is the NCAA tennis tournament.

It is amazing how fast these four years have flown by, and I am not quite ready for it to be over.  When I got to the University of Florida in the fall of 2008 I told my advisor, Tom Williams, that I wanted to stay on track to graduate in four years…..what was I thinking?!?  No, I am only kidding. I graduated on Cinco de Mayo with a degree in Business Management, which is quite exciting.

I will never forget all the great times I have had as a student-athlete at Florida.  During these past four years I have grown as an athlete and more importantly, as a person.  I have been blessed with the opportunity to be surrounded by some of the most dedicated and talented athletes in the country.  This atmosphere pushes each one of us to be the best we can be and wear our University of Florida gear proudly.

I have also made friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.  Being able to graduate with a NCAA championship is also something that I am honored to have been a part of and will always be the highlight of those memories. It is sad that this is all coming to an end, yet it is also exciting to start a new chapter in my life.  I plan on playing some more tennis after I graduate and eventually go to graduate school.

As I have said, these past four years have been the best times of my life.  My coaches, advisors, trainers, and team have helped me in more ways than they can imagine and helped get me to where I am today.  I have one more week left and I will enjoy each and every moment.  I am so happy to be a Florida Gator and I cannot imagine having gone anywhere else.  It really is great to be a Florida Gator!
