Hey there Gators and Grinders,

As the Eye of the Gator series branches out into other sports, we begin to see the beauty in our fellow athletes’ sports. It’s always interesting to see what it’s like to step into elite athletes’ lives and experience the things they do on a daily basis.

This week, from Women’s Gymnastics, we were joined by Marissa King, who, on top of being a University of Florida star athlete, is also a British Olympian, World- and European-Championship team member. Marissa’s latest accolade in her beloved sport of gymnastics came in the most recent collegiate season where the Gator Gymnasts won the SEC team title and went on to win the NCAA team title for the first time in UF history. To cap off Marissa King’s exciting senior year on the collegiate team with a SEC and NCAA team championship was a dream come true for her. Simply saying they won does nothing to evoke the dramatic way the ladies won the NCAA title—they were down until the final rotation, where they rallied to pull ahead and win the first national title for the program.

In this segment of In the Eye of the Gator, see what it’s like to be an SEC and NCAA champion gymnast.

About Ryan Rosenbaum

Hey there Gator Nation! My name is Ryan Rosenbaum, and I am the main guy in charge of new Gator Grind. I am a Sophmore on the Men's Swimming and Diving team and a Telecommunications Production major in the classroom. Along with my role as the head of the grind, I am also responsible for what the Grind does on all social media, as well as the "In the Eye of the Gator" articles and a many more. The Grind for me is much more then a blog for athletes at the University, it is doing something that no one else in the nation is doing and as a student of the Telecommunications field, being on the cutting edge is always a great thing. At the University of Florida we have the undying loyalty of the Gator Nation and all of its great fans, so what better way to reward our fans then to give them a fully immersed look into what it's like being a Student Athlete at UF. I am dedicated to the Grind becoming a tradition at the University of Florida and look forward to seeing it grow. Keep Calm and Grind on. GO GATORS
